What is cyber crime?
Any illegal activity wherein computer’s are used either as a tool, a target or both is a cyber crime.
What is a computer?
As per the information technology act 2000, a computer means any electronic ,magnetic, optical, or high speed data processing device or system which performs logical, arithmetic or optical impulses, and includes all input, output, processing, storage, computer software or communication facilities which are connected or related to the computer in a computer system or computer network.

PDA, mobile all types,
gaming consoles, psps,
ipods, mp3 players , camera etc.....

What should I do if I fall victim to a cyber crime?

Understand that this can happened to anybody, you are not the only person or first person to be victimized .

Do not delete or tamper with the evidence .

What is physing
Physing is a scam which attempts to entice e mail recipients into clicking on link’s that takes them to a bogus web site. The website may prompt the recipients to provide personal information such as bank a/c no., credit card no, and / or it may download malicious software on to the recipient’s computer. Both the link and website may appear authentic however they are not legitimate

Someone dishonestly or fraudulently makes use of any unique identification features of any other person , it is called identity theft on computer.
Punishment extents to 3 yrs and fine of one lakh.
